Maximizing Your Earnings: How to Get Better-Paying Surveys

If you’ve ever logged into a survey panel only to find a "no surveys available" message, you aren’t alone. Since companies are looking for specific demographics to test their newest innovations, how you manage your account determines how much you earn.

1. Complete (and Update) Your Profile

This is the single most important step. Market researchers use "screener" data to find participants. If your profile is only 50% complete, you’re missing out on 50% of the opportunities. At American Consumer Opinion®, we encourage members to keep their profiles current. Did you recently buy a car? Have a baby? Start a new hobby? Update your info!

The more accurate your profile is, the better we can match you with opportunities that are the right fit for you — so you can earn rewards for being you!

2. Lead with Attention to Detail

High-value surveys often have a limited number of seats, so responding to invitations promptly is a great habit. Once you’re in, the most important thing you can do is provide focused, attentive feedback. Survey partners rely on your unique insights to make big decisions, so taking the time to provide deliberate and honest answers ensures your contributions remain highly valued.

3. Consistency Is Key

The more surveys you complete accurately, the more the system trusts you. For 40 years, ACOP has prioritized members who provide thoughtful, honest feedback. Consistent participants are often invited to exclusive, higher-paying research projects, such as:

  • Product testing (where items are mailed to your home).
  • Focus groups.
  • In-depth app and website evaluations.

4. Check Your Email (and Spam!)

Because we’ve been around since 1986, our invitations are recognizable, but occasionally a strict email filter might hide your next payout. Whitelist our domain to ensure you never miss a high-point invitation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it really free to join?

Absolutely. Membership in American Consumer Opinion® is 100% free. We will never ask you for a credit card or a membership fee. Our clients pay us for your insights, so we pay you for your time.

How much can I earn per survey?

Incentives range from 25 to 5,000 Points per survey or research project, depending on the length and complexity. Since 1 Point = 1 Penny, that means you can earn anywhere from $1.00 to $50.00 for a single project! Even for short "screeners" (brief surveys to see if you qualify for a larger study), you’ll receive 5–50 points or an entry into a reward drawing.

When can I cash out my rewards?

Once your account reaches 1,000 Points ($10.00), you can redeem them for cash via PayPal or Hyperwallet, or choose to donate your earnings to a partner charity.

How many surveys will I receive?

Most members receive several surveys a month plus monthly "screeners" to check for eligibility. To get the most opportunities, we recommend keeping your profile updated so we can match you with the right brands.

Will you sell my email address?

Never. We are an accredited member of the Better Business Bureau and follow strict privacy standards. Your personal contact information is used only to invite you to surveys; we only share "statistical summaries" with our clients, never your individual identity.
